BITTER-GOURD ROAST

Pagakkai as is named in Tamil makes many change their expression, but this is a vegetable which is good for health and if made accordingly will taste good too.I just like this roast minus its oil consumption.

Ingredients
Bitter-gourd-3 med size
Small onions-5
Red chilli-3
Besan flour-1/2 cup
Rice flour-3 tbsp
Salt-as required
Oil-for deep frying

Method
Cut the bitter-gourd to round shape taking off only the big seeds
Soak them in water with a tbsp of curd for 15 min
Grind chilly and onions to paste
Strain away water from the bitter-gourd
Add the paste, besan flour, rice flour and salt and mix well
Heat oil and deep fry like pakoras
Adjust the flour propotions for crispiness
Tastes great with sambar and rasam rice
