PEAR MURABBA AND PEAR SAUCE

After posting for the AFAM-PEAR EVENT I came across two more unique recipes from my collection and as there were no restriction for entries I thought of sharing it with you all.So here are the recipes

PEAR MURABBA

Ingredients
Pears-1/2kg
Sugar-3/4kg
Water-1/2 litre
A drop of green colour
Cardamon powder-1/2tsp

Method
Peel and make cuts on the pear
Add sugar,cardamon and colour in water and boil
Now add the pears and continue boiling on low flame till pears are tender and sugar syrup is thick
Cool and store in a glass jar



PEAR SAUCE

Ingredients
Pears-4
Castor sugar-2tbsp
Cumin seeds-1/2tsp roasted
Water-1/2cup
A pinch of cinnamon powder
Salt and pepper to taste

Method
Peel and quarter,core and slice the pears
Combine all the ingredients in a saucepan
Bring to boil,cover and simmer for 5 min or till the pear is pulpy
Stir until well mashed
Remove from fire,cool and serve with toasted bread

Variation
Peel,quarter,core and slice the pear
Combine all the ingredients and pressure cook
Blend to smooth paste and add a pinch of lemon yellow food colour
Serve with toasted bread/chapati/puri
