Rava is a must in every South Indian household.Usually it is famous for making Kesari,Upma,Kichadi,Idli,Pongal and is very much substitute for emergency breakfast,sweets as rava gets cooked very quickly.This is my aunt's recipe and tastes different from the regular Chakkarai Pongal
Ingredients
Rava-1cup
Jaggery-21/2cup
Ghee-1cup
Cardamon powder-1tsp
Cashews-as required
Raisins-as required
Water-3cups
Method
In a kadai roast cashews and raisins in little ghee and set aside
Next roast the rava till golden brown
Boil 3cups water seperately and pour with the rava and mix well
Simmer and keep it closed for few minutes
Dissolve jaggery in little water,strain and boil it till thick
Pour this to the rava and add cardamon powder,cashews,raisins and mix well
Serve hot
