Raw bananas need not necessarily bring to our minds chips,bajji,poriyal we can also make koftas,patties and parathas.Here are the recipes
KOFTA CURRY
Ingredients
Raw banana-200gms
Ginger garlic paste-1tbsp
Red chilli powder-1tsp
Gram flour-2tbsp
Green chilli paste-1tsp
Chopped onions-50gms
Chopped tomatoes-100gms
Turmeric powder-1tsp
Coriander powder-1tsp
Garam masala powder-1/2tsp
Water-100ml
Salt to taste
Method
Steam cook the banana de-skin and grate it
Add little chilli powder,salt,gram flour,ginger garlic paste and green chilli paste
Make small balls and deep fry them
In a pan saute chopped onions till they become golden brown
Add ginger garlic paste,tomatoes,chilli,coriander,turmeric,garam masala powder and water and cook till the raw smell goes
Add the fried koftas to the gravy
Garnish with coriander leaves and serve
PATTIES
Ingredients
Raw banana-200gms
Roasted channa powder-50gm
Red chilli powder-1tsp
Garam masala powder-1/2tsp
Coriander powder-1tsp
Jeera powder-1/2tsp
Onion paste-1tbsp
Kewra essence-2 drops
Ghee-20ml
Salt to taste
Method
Steam cook,de-skin and grate the bananas
Add all the other ingredients and mix well
Make round patties and shallow fry them in ghee on a tawa till they get a golden crust
Serve hot with sauce/mint/coriander chutney
URUNDAI
Ingredients
Raw banana-50gms
Chopped ginger-1tsp
Chopped green chilli-1tsp
Chopped onion-1tbsp
Red chilli powder-1/2tsp
Chaat masala-1/2tsp
Chopped coriander-1tsp
Flour-100gms
Salt to taste
Water as required
Oil to shallow fry
Method
Cook,de-skin and grate the banana
Make a smooth dough of flour and water
Add all the ingredients with the grated banana and mix well
Divide the dough and stuff the pieces with the banana mixture
Shallow fry in ghee till golden brown
Serve hot with curd
