Garlic-is an inevitable ingredient in our every day cooking and I need not say the health benefits in including garlic.This is a very different recipe I learnt from my relative who recommended this for lactating mothers.In our grandma's days there was a strong feeling that garlic and small onions increases the secretion of milk.I do not know whether it is medically true,but nothing wrong in consuming them.It is very difficult to have plain garlic-small onions combo so I was suggested this recipe.
Raw rice-1cup
Garlic-10 flakes
Small onions-10nos
Salt-as required
Curry leaves-a few
To Roast and Grind
Red chillies-6 or as required
Pepper-1/2 tsp
To season
Mustard seeds-1/2tsp
Cook rice with salt as done for variety rice
Peel and cut garlic-onions finely
Roast and powder red chilly and pepper
Heat oil season with mustard,add garlic and onions and saute well
Add chilly-pepper powder and saute
To this add the cooked rice and curry leaves and serve hot
Appalams,vadams and chips are a good combo for this garlic rice
