KODHUMAI / WHEAT FLOUR KUZH

Today wheat is substituted in place of rice by many of us.Though the carbs level is said to be same,we feel that we consume less quantity of wheat products.Wheat flour is used to make many dishes like chapathi, puri, dosas but kuzh is a very old recipe and easy to make for a filling dinner.

Ingrdients
Wheat Flour-2 cups
Butter milk / water-as required
Salt-as required

For seasoning
Mustard-1 tsp
Urad dal-1 tsp
Red Chilly-3
Curry leaves-a few
Asafoetida-a pinch
Oil-5 tsp

Method
Dissolve the wheat flour in butter milk/water to watery consistency and add salt to it
Butter milk is used to get a sour taste
Heat oil in a kadai and season with the ingredients
Simmer and slowly pour in the wheat flour mix and keep stiring so that lumps are not formed
Continue to stir till thick consistency is reached
Remove and serve hot
The accompaniments for this wheat kuzh can be idli podi/pickle,but the best one is small onions finely chopped and mixed with it
