I usually don't make much deep fried dishes but the pleasant climate yesterday,very unusual one for Trichy,tempted me to make this favourite snack with slight variation
Ingredients
Urad dal-1 cup
Carrots,beans,coconut-1/4 cup
Green chilly-3nos
Salt-to taste
Asafoetida-1tsp
Curry leaves-a few
Coriander leaves-a few
Oil-for deep frying
Method
Soak the dal for 10-15 mins
Grind with chilly and salt by adding little water only
Add asafoetida finely chopped vegetables,curry and coriader leaves and mix well
Heat oil and deep fry the bondas
Serve hot with coconut/coriander chutney/sauce
Coriander Chutney
Ingredients
Coriander leaves-1/4 cup
Grated coconut-3 tsp
Tamarind-a little
Salt-to taste
For Seasoning
Mustard-1 tsp
Split urad dal-1tsp
Asafoetida-a pinch
Curry leaves-a few
Method
Wet grind all the ingredients and season
I didn't have much time for a leisure snap just hurried and persuaded my children for a quick one
