Channa is a favourite food for everyone be it in any form.We all make the regular channa for baturas which is of regular taste. This recipe is a little different in taste which I learnt from my aunt. Now this has become a favourite side dish in my house

Method
Soak channa overnight and pressure cook with a tea bag/2tsp tea tied in a muslin cloth
Cut onions,grind the tomatoes
Heat oil in pan add the cumin seeds, allow to splutter and add the cut onions, saute
To this add the tomato puree followed by all the powders and saute well
Remove the tea bag from the cooked channa and add the channa after draining the water
Finally add kasturi methi
Saute well till dry and serve garnished with coriander leaves with batura/rotis/rice/sandwich
